Smash Bros. Drink Coasters

Smash Bros Select Screen Coasters Crate

This one started as a case design for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, but I felt that drink coasters would be more appropriate. The coasters are based on the “chips” used in the player select screen, and they are stored in a very familiar crate. This set makes for a fun and colorful design that would look at home in your living room or rec room.

Smash Bros. is the very epitome of a what you’d call a “party game”, and these coasters reflect that. Also having these coasters in front of corresponding players will help you know who is who in the game (I often hear questions like “Hey, who is Kirby?” when playing).

A lot of people give Nintendo a hard time for their backwards approach to online gaming, but you know what? The best gaming experiences you’ll ever have are with your friends and family in the same room. I can’t wait to play the new game.

Breaking Bad Drinking Glasses

Breaking Bad glasses

Yesterday the special edition Blu-Ray case for Breaking Bad was announced, and I really dig the barrel design, almost as much as my design (which could also work as a slipcase, now that I think of it). That said I think the many barrels seen in the show would make for a cool set of drinking cups.

The larger barrels that would double as mugs and the smaller barrels would function as shot glasses. Completing the set are drinking coasters in the shape of wood pallets (the kind you’d find in a warehouse).

I coined the idea for the coasters on my own, but I’m happy to say many others have beaten me to it — you can buy them from several places right now. One difference is my coasters have no gaps on the top where the drink sits, to help prevent fluids from getting to the surface you’re trying to protect; the ones currently on the market don’t appear to be effective in that regard! Those other coasters don’t respect the wood, if you get my reference.

Ron Swanson’s Breakfast Poster Of Greatness

Ron Swanson Breakfast Poster Bacon And Eggs

I’ve been getting many requests to make a few of my posters available at other sellers because my current Imagekind vendor can be a wee bit pricey for overseas shipping!

Here are your options:

Zazzle: Best for international shipping. Here is the link.

Imagekind: Best for North American shipping. Here is the link.

Both places feature frequent promotions, numerous sizes, paper types, and framing options. If you’re frugal you might have to head to the checkout for both to see the best price.

If you’re looking for a Ron Swanson wallpaper look no further.

Gatorade Shower Head

Now you can shower just like a champion! Except on a more daily basis. And with regular water, not Gatorade. (EDIT: You also could embed an LED in there to make the water change colors. Thanks to Ryan M. for the idea!).

On a lighter note this blog is now 3 years old! Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my weird ideas, much like the one you see above.

Odds And Ends

Death Star Slurpee Cup Star Wars

I’ll start things off with a bonus design I’ve been sitting on for a while: A Death Star-themed slurpee (slushee?) cup. It just has a single normal green straw that is held in place by the ‘green blast’ (from a fully-operational Death Star). It’s pretty much your normal dome-covered fountain cup. And now for some other news:

- A person who goes by SHIFT brought a design I made for a LEGO spice rack to life. It looks great! You can find full instructions to make one here. Thanks SHIFT!

- ES Robbins made a prototype chair mat for that NHL ’94 design I made a few weeks back. It looks amazing! The post was updated with the picture. Still trying to figure out the logistics of making it available (requires custom art).

- Ubisoft is offering a Sam Fisher digital watch (as a Collector’s Edition bonus item for Splinter Cell: Blacklist) which looks similar to one I designed a few years back. Very cool. European customers only (sadly).

- 80’s Tees is now offering T-Shirts based on my Direwolves hockey logo design. You can grab one here. Look for more of my T-Shirt designs from them in the near future.

- The Tardis hockey jersey is back this month. Head over to my other blog for details. I’ll also be doing hockey jersey giveaways every so often for my Facebook group, so join up!

And that concludes an interesting few weeks!

Geeky Lunch Box Part 2: Mr. Dressup

Part 1.

If you’re Canadian who is 22 and older, you probably want one of these. As you know I am straight-up gangster, and even I would want one.

All you would need is a red “construction worker” lunch box, then decorate it (via paint or stickers) with a bunch of pretty flowers.

A Coffee Mug That Looks Like A Coffee Pot

Coffee Mug Looks Like Coffee Pot 2013 Dave Delisle davesgeekyideas.com Starbucks

Apologies for the lack of activity here, my other blog has been keeping me busy as of late. If you don’t mind wading through all the jersey designs you can find the odd hockey idea in there as well. Going forward I will try to balance things out between the two sites. The key word being try.

So here is a simple novelty idea: A coffee mug that looks like a miniature coffee pot. Inspired by those many times where I’m tempted to drink directly from the pot (co-workers be damned) during those moments of weakness. But mostly I just like the idea of carrying around a small coffee pot to flaunt my caffeine addiction.

Also this would be great for those single-cup coffee makers/espresso machines.

I’ve looked high and low for something like this. If I missed it please leave a note in the comments, because I really wouldn’t mind owning a few.
